Agnesian HealthCare Welcomes New Optometrist

Kimberly Schweiger, OD, an optometrist, is now serving patients at Agnesian HealthCare’s Fond du Lac Regional Clinic, 420 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac.

Dr. Schweiger specializes in function and disorders of the eye, detection of eye disease and some types of eye disease management. An optometrist conducts eye examinations, prescribes corrective contact lenses and glasses, and diagnoses and treats eye diseases and disorders.

“I treat my patients with respect, honesty and excellence,” says Dr. Schweiger. “It is important to care for the entire person, both physical and psychological, to ensure that their total healthcare needs are being addressed and effectively managed.”

Dr. Schweiger completed her optometry degree from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon and residency at Fresno Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in 2007. She most recently served as an optometrist in Brillion, Kiel and Appleton. Dr. Schweiger grew up in Fond du Lac and attended Horace Mann High School and the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh.

“I look forward to taking care of the whole person,” she says. “Family and medical history play a large part in caring for the eyes.”

Dr. Schweiger enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, camping, participating in outdoor activities and traveling. She recently returned from a mission trip to Panama where she performed free eye examinations and dispensed donated eye glasses, and plans to do more trips in the future.
