AHC Foundation Charity Open Chairpersons Named

On Monday, August 18, golf enthusiasts will be enjoying a day of fun at the South Hills Golf & Country Club in Fond du Lac. However, there is a deeper meaning to their golf game, and other festivities, as they gather to support Agnesian HealthCare’s hospice and cancer care services.

Thanks to the Hospice Hope Cancer Care Charity Open, now in its 26th year, patients and families in need of these vital services can count on the quality providers that offer these programs at a local level.

This year, the Hospice Hope Cancer Care Charity Open is being led by Dan and Joan Buechel as senior chairpersons, with Dr. Shayne and Nicole Bauer joining as junior chairpersons.

“The Hospice Hope Cancer Care Charity Open has raised more than $3.4 million in the past 25 years, and we are looking forward to another successful event this year,” says Dan Buechel.

Continued financial support is essential to help patients and families that are facing end-of-life illnesses. The mission of hospice is to affirm life and view death as a natural process. Hospice is designed to help patients live the remainder of their lives as fully as possible. An interdisciplinary team of trained professionals work together to deliver hospice services that can make that dream a reality.

People throughout the Fond du Lac area can trust Agnesian HealthCare Cancer Care professionals to detect and treat cancer with skill and heart. Physicians and staff, through their interdisciplinary activities and cancer programs, provide high quality services for sophisticated detection, diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Services are offered in Fond du Lac, Ripon and Waupun.

“This event truly benefits those in need of cancer care services as well as focuses on the mission of Hospice Hope,” says Dr. Shayne Bower. “We are extremely grateful to those who help support the patients and families who ultimately benefit from the Charity Open.”

Currently, the Charity Open committee is making plans for another great day of golf, elegant dining and an exciting auction. This year’s raffle gives people the opportunity to win the first-place prize of a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Latitude FWD or a $15,000 cash prize. The second prize is $5,000 cash, and the third prize is $2,500 cash. A limited number of tickets will be sold at four for $150 or $50 each.

The Agnesian HealthCare Foundation can now accept credit card ticket sales by phone. All other purchases will continue to occur face-to-face, without sales by mail.

“We are so grateful for the community’s continued support of these two vital healthcare services,” says Rita Meidam, Agnesian HealthCare Foundation executive director. “Individuals and families in the Fond du Lac area are fortunate to have these state-of-the-art services within their own community, often eliminating the needs to travel and leave family behind.”

Simply call (920) 926-4959 and purchase your Charity Open raffle tickets by credit card (MasterCard, Visa or Discover).

Raffle tickets can be purchased in Fond du Lac at Agnesian HealthCare Information Desks, Agnesian HealthCare Foundation, Central Barber, Festival Foods, Fox Valley Savings, Graphic Center, Holiday Chevrolet, Jack Twohig Carpet One, Jet Stream Car Wash, Michels Corporation, Partners by Design, Trepanier’s Backyard Grill & Bar, and Twohig Flooring America.
