Alternative Lakeside Park Master Plan Discussed Yet Again Tonight

It could be another long night in City Council chambers as the Alternative Lakeside Park Master Plan is discussed yet again. Included in the discussions will be the matter of the two petitions filed by the Friends of Lakeside Park and the over 3,000 signatures submitted opposed to parts of the plan. City Attorney Deb Hoffmann has made it clear the petitions presented have not met certification qualifications, a position the Friends of Lakeside Park disagree with. The group is opposing parts of the Master Plan, and have hired the services of Mary Beth Peranteau of the law firm Wheeler, Van Sickle and Anderson to dispute the City Attorney’s position. Their goal is to have the Lakeside Park Master Plan placed on the ballot in April for a referendum vote. Council is set to meet Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
