Another Ledger Postseason Blowout!!

St. Mary’s Springs (10-0) advanced to the 3rd round of the WIAA Division 6 Playoffs with a 45-0 win over Manawa (7-3) on Saturday night at Fruth Field.  Senior QB Evan Henderson threw for 218 yards and 3 touchdowns and also ran for two more TDs in the win. The Ledgers scored on their first possession of the game when Henderson hit Eric Feldner on a 39 yard pass.  Darrin Ward put SMSA up 14-0 in the first half when he was the back end of a “Hook-N-Ladder” play as Henderson hit Ryan Grandlic on a short pass and he tossed it to Ward who ran the rest of the way for a score.  Henderson’s first rushing TD came late in the first half to make it 21-0.  Springs score 10 quick points in the first 3:01 of the 3rd quarter when Manawa fumbled two consecutive kickoffs.  The first leading to a 37-yard Mitch Herron field goal and the 2nd a 23 yard TD reception by Matt Austin.  Henderson ran for 31 yard score to make it 38-0.  St. Mary’s Springs put one more TD on the board with 3:05 left in the 4th quarter when Ike Floyd ran it in from 9 yards out.  St. Mary’s Springs will host Shiocton next Saturday night at 7pm in the 3rd round of the playoffs.  That’s a rematch of last season’s Division Six state championship game.  You’ll hear the game on KFIZ and at kfiz.com
