Another Paper Mill Closing In The Fox Valley

Another paper mill is closing in the Fox Valley. Georgia-based Neenah Paper said it plans to shut down its mill located in Appleton. In a statement issued by the company, the close is expected within the next 60 days. The mill makes products used in air and oil filters for the transportation industry. The company said it expects to improve yearly earnings by $7 to $8 million per year as a result of the closing.

Missy Elam, Director of Engagement and Communications at the corporate office for Neenah Paper located in Alphretta, Georgia, sent an update to KFIZ, stating that, while closing one mill, “we will restart a
smaller fine paper and packaging line at our Neenah facility in Neenah, WI.”
