Apartment Complex Fire In Beaver Dam Displaces 15 Families

No injuries were reported as a result of an apartment complex fire Thursday evening(1/28/21) in Beaver Dam. The Beaver Dam Fire Department received the call at about 6:20 p.m., and arrived at a structure fire on Lakecrest Drive in the City of Beaver Dam.

Firefighters arrived and found smoke and fire coming from the 16-unit, two-story apartment building. Police units assisted in evacuating people from the building and preventing re-entry. Beaver Dam Firefighters were assisted on the scene by mutual aid from Burnette, Columbus, Fox Lake, Horicon, Juneau, Lowell, Clyman, and Waupun Fire Departments. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The bulk of the fire was confined to a single apartment, however there was smoke damage throughout the building. The building is partially uninhabitable and 15 families were affected, with the Red Cross attending to the needs of those displaced.
