Area Crews Battled Large Structure Fire Thursday Evening

Area crews battled a pole shed fire Thursday night just outside of Eden. The call came in just before 9:10 p.m. Thursday for reports of the shed on fire at 319 Fond du Lac Avenue. When Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies and fire crews arrived they found the structure fully engulfed in flames.

The large shed was located on property owned by Guelig Waste Removal and Demolition and contained wood chippings and machinery. There were no injuries reported, but Fire personnel deemed the building a total loss. The fire was not considered suspicious in nature but it remains under investigation.

Assisting at the scene were fire departments from City of Fond du Lac, Town of Fond du Lac, Campbellsport, Mt. Calvary, Town of Calumet, Lamartine, Waupun, Oakfield, St. Cloud, Eldorado, Van Dyne, Kewaskum, Lomira, Greenbush, Theresa, Kohlsville, and Brownsville. Assistance was also given by the Fond du Lac County Highway Department.
