As Retirement Looms, Lamb Praises Community

City of Fond du Lac Police Chief Bill Lamb is retiring this month after a 33-year career in law enforcement. Chief Lamb tells KFIZ News that there have always been two things that have contributed to the successes and accomplishments of the departments he has led – great co-workers, and an incredible amount of community support.

“I want to thank the members of this community for the incredible amount of support that they have always shown to the department and to me, in particular, when I was in a very high-profile position being the Chief of Police. The greater Fond du Lac area is just so incredibly supportive of law enforcement and there just are not adequate words to share how much that means to me but also to the officers of the area law enforcement communities.”

Lamb has served as Chief of Police for the City of Fond du Lac since 2011, and was the Police Chief for the Village of North Fond du Lac prior to that. Assistant Chief of Police Aaron Goldstein was named the interim chief while the department searches for a permanent successor.
