Ashes To Go

If you don’t have time for a church service on this Ash Wednesday the St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral may have the solution for you. They will be offering a sort of drive-through service know as “Ashes to Go.”  Reverend Patrick Perkins says it’s been offered in other parts of the country and they are bringing it to Fond du Lac. He says, “I can imagine some would say it’s kind of quirky, but the idea of it is the ashes are simply a sign of our mortality.” Perkins says not everyone has time during the middle of the week to get away from work and attend a church service. He says, “This is a situation where people who are wanting to make a good beginning of their Lent can come and get the next best thing if they are not able to go to either the Cathedral here or their church for a service.”  “Ashes to Go” will be offered from 7 to 11:30 this morning and 3 to 5 this afternoon on Division Street in front of the Cathedral.
