Assembly Could Take Up Mining Bill on Thursday

(WRN) The state Assembly sets a date to take up a controversial mining bill.  Assembly Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester) says the chamber plans to debate, and likely pass the bill, next Thursday. The state Senate spent nine hours debating the bill Wednesday. Vos is not offering any predictions on how long the Assembly debate could run. The speaker says there are no plans to make any changes to the bill, although Democrats are expected to offer multiple amendments. Passage by the Assembly would send the bill to the governor.
