Attacks On Police A Concern

Fond du Lac Police Chief Bill Lamb says the anti-police movement and attacks on law enforcement officers has to stop. He says 2014 was the fifth straight year that ambush attacks were the leading felonious cause of deaths for police officers in the United States. He says there is no more startling a statistic than that. The shooting of a Fox Lake, Illinois Police Lieutenant was the 26th fatal law enforcement shooting this year. Chief Lamb says it’s upsetting to know that several hundred people rallied in Minnesota last weekend chanting anti-police slogans. He says there were chants of “pigs in a blanket, fry’em like bacon” and it’s appalling that that type of message continues to grow. Lamb says most of the public do support law enforcement officers and its time for them to speak up and share that message. He says they need to share that message with leaders on the local, state and national level. He says locally people in the Fond du Lac area have demonstrated their support where two law enforcement officers lost their lives in shootings in the past four years.
