Aurora reaches $12 Million Settlement with FBI

A $12 million settlement has been reached in a Medicaid fraud case involving Aurora Healthcare and the FBI.  The company was accused of falsely filing medical claims to the government after doctors were allegedly caught referring patients to themselves for treatment. The suit also alleged that Aurora overcharged for services and charged the government for services that weren’t needed. The FBI says the high amount of the settlement shows the seriousness of the violations, and the impact this fraud has on health care for all Americans.
