Bachhubers Receive Futuremakers Partner Award

FOND DU LAC – The Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) Board awarded its “Futuremakers Partner” award to the Ted and Grace Bachhuber Foundation last Tuesday evening. The award recognizes the unique and dynamic partnerships between Wisconsin’s technical colleges and their employer partners.

The Ted and Grace Bachhuber Foundation, a Wisconsin philanthropic group has a long-standing, two-decade partnership with WTCS and Moraine Park Technical College. The foundation is an active partner in the college’s efforts to be a leader in manufacturing training and education.

“We greatly appreciate this recognition, as well as all of the good work done by Moraine Park Technical College,” said JoAnn Bachhuber, president and treasurer of the Ted and Grace Bachhuber Foundation, Inc. “MPTC is a wonderful source for finding skilled and well-trained individuals, and together, we hope to continue to provide outstanding opportunities.”

The Ted and Grace Bachhuber Foundation donated $75,000 to support a welding addition at the Beaver Dam Campus, and $150,000 to Moraine Park’s Advanced Manufacturing and Technology Center. In 2012 they contributed $45,000 to Moraine Park’s “FACT” program to strengthen the appeal of manufacturing-related careers, grow enrollment in manufacturing programs, and provide area manufacturers with direct access to students enrolled in those fields. The Ted and Grace Bachhuber Foundation donates $9,000 annually for student scholarships. To date, they have given approximately $112,000 in support of the student scholarship program, allowing more than 60 Moraine Park students to see their dreams of attaining a college degree become a reality.

“The Wisconsin Technical College System and Moraine Park Technical College are grateful to have the Ted and Grace Bachhuber Foundation as partners,” said WTCS Board President John Schwantes. “Every day, their contributions and commitment to technical education make a difference in the lives of our students, create qualified employees to fill the employment demands of our state, and help build and strengthen our communities.”
