Bank Robber Killed In FDL Shootout Was A Serial Robber

The bank robber killed in a shootout with State Trooper Trevor Casper in Fond du Lac in March was a serial bank robber. A report released by the Newaygo County Michigan Sheriff’s Department Monday linked 38-year-old Steven Snyder of Kingston, Michigan to nine bank robberies in Wisconsin, Ohio and Michigan. DNA and other evidence linked Snyder to the robberies that date back to June of 2011. On March 24th Snyder robbed the State Bank of Florence in Wausaukee in Marinette County. He killed 59-year-old Thomas Christ of Wausaukee who confronted him about parking on his property. Later State Trooper Casper spotted Snyder in a vehicle in Fond du Lac. That led to a fatal shootout between Casper and Snyder that led to both men’s deaths.
