Barn Destroyed by Fire in the Town of Byron

A barn is considered a total loss after a fire in the Town
of Byron Friday afternoon. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office responded to
the scene on Highway 175 just before 1:30 pm and found a calf barn fully engulfed
in flames. The property owner reported the 24 X 32 foot barn was a total loss.
Six head of cattle were killed in the fire, and a UTV was also destroyed. No
injuries to civilians or emergency personnel were reported. Fire departments
from Oakfield, Brownsville, Eden, the City and Town of Fond du Lac, Lamartine
and Knowles all assisted at the scene. Highway 175 was closed for around an
hour between County Highway F and Church Road as crews worked at the scene.
