Beaver Dam Man Sentenced to Prison in Shaken Baby Case

A 24-year-old Beaver Dam man has been sentenced to prison in a shaken baby case. Raymond Kaiser was sentenced in Dodge County Court Thursday to eight years in prison and five years of extended supervision. He was found guilty in November of last year of Physical Abuse of a Child – Recklessly Causing Great Bodily Harm. An eight month old girl suffered permanent brain damage and disability after suffering grave injuries to her brain, eyes and neck consistent with being violently shaken while in Keyser’s care. Keyser told authorities the child had fallen off of a bed and onto a carpeted floor. During the trial, the jury heard testimony from the girl’s mother and from medical professionals regarding the severity of the injuries.

Dodge County District Attorney Kurt Klomberg said during sentencing “A civilized society cannot tolerate violence leading to the severe irreparable harm to children. The maximum penalty allowed does not begin to adequately address the severity of the crime.”
