Bernier Set To Retire From County Health In June

After 23 years working in Tobacco Prevention and Control with the Fond du Lac County Health Department, Sandy Bernier will retire at the end of June.

Bernier started working with the Fond du Lac County Health Department in 1998, as the Tobacco Prevention and Control Program Assistant working with youth, and eventually took over as the program coordinator overseeing a multijurisdictional coalition.

The Tobacco Prevention and Control work will continue with the new program coordinator Johanna Brotz, who has a background in health promotion and has worked with the Health Department providing support during the COVID-19 pandemic. Brotz graduated from UW-Oshkosh in 2018 and has worked in public health for three years,
specifically in areas of health promotion, harm reduction/prevention, and community outreach.

Bernier says, “It has been a privilege and honor to work with many dedicated and committed coalition members who took an active role in decreasing the burden of tobacco in Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Waushara, and Marquette Counties.”
