Big Beer Bet on Brewers Playoff Series

The Milwaukee Brewers and Colorado Rockies are battling in the National League Division Series – and the big brewing companies in their respective cities have placed a big wager on who will come out on top. Suds from Miller Brewing Company and Coors Brewing are at stake in the “beer series” – and both ballparks are even named for their brewing companies.

If the Brewers win the series – participating bars in Milwaukee will provide fans with a free Miller on October 12th. The same goes for fans in Denver if the Rockies are victorious.

Both towns have extensive brewing histories, with Miller opening in 1855, and Coors founded soon after in 1873 suburban Golden, Colorado. Milwaukee also owns the nickname of “Brew City” – with more than twenty breweries within city limits.
