Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue, Fond du Lac Police Department and Flight for Life took part in National Night Out at the Fond du Lac Fairgrounds park on August 2. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live.
New this year was a Tug O War event that showcased Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue competing against the Fond du Lac Police Department. Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue won the event, receiving $2000 from the Fond du Lac Elk’s Lodge #57. They were able to choose where the money was donated to, electing to divide the money up and give it to 4 different organizations. Big Brothers Big Sisters were the proud recipients of $500.
“As I told Chief O’Leary,’ said Tammy Young, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters, the $500 donation made our Friday afternoon when it showed up in the mail. Every dollar we receive at Big Brothers Big Sisters makes a BIG difference! We are very thankful that Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue donated the money to our organization.”
