Bill Aims To Address Abysmal Civic Test Scores In Wisconsin

Proposed legislation would require the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction to develop standards for civics curriculum in K-12 schools. Co-sponsor Representative Donna Rozar of Marshfield said students are not testing will in the subject.

“Our statistics are abysmal with what students come out of that course with. So if indeed civics are being taught, why are our scores so abysmal?”

The bill had a public hearing at the Capitol last week.
