Bird City Walks Scheduled In FDL

Fond du Lac will celebrate International Migratory Bird Days with guided bird walks this Friday and Saturday. Laura DeGolier is with the Bird City Fond du Lac team. She says Bird City Wisconsin recently informed them the City will be recognized for its sixth year as a Bird City in the state program. She says birds are important for several reasons. She says they are an important part of the environment and can be a harbinger for change. She says birders have been tracking bird history for more than 150 years in the state, which tells us more about our world. She says in addition to their beauty, they provide us with song and can be a pleasant diversion just to watch. As for the bird walks they will be Friday at 6 p.m. at the Camelot Business Park and Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Greenway Arboretum and Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. at Lakeside Park.
