Bittersweet Day In Beaver Dam

Thursday was a bittersweet day for City of Beaver Dam officials as the apartment building where a fatal explosion occurred was burned to the ground. Flames burned around 1600 degrees or hot enough to take care of any remaining chemicals in the structure. Thirteen tenants in building 109 of the Village Glen Apartments got some of their belongings back. Mayor Becky Glewen shed a fear tears after meeting those tenants saying quite frankly it was very emotional to have everything that they collected throughout their lives put in front of them in just two totes. She said, “So many of us are able to continue and go back to our normal daily activities we know that the journey to normalcy for them will take much longer.”
