Black Friday Shopping Safety

Today is one of
the busiest shopping days of the year, and a Fond du Lac Police Officer has
some tips to prevent being a victim of a crime while out at stores today.
Officer Erik Foster says if you’re going to be going around from store to store
to avoid leaving presents in your car. He says doing that makes your car an
easy target, and it would be simple for someone to break a window and take all
of the gifts you just purchased. Foster recommends taking a break and taking a group
of items that you bought back home before returning to do more shopping. Foster
also says to avoid leaving your wallet, purse or phone unattended in a shopping
cart while in the store. He says things left in the cart, even a few feet away
from where you are, can be easily stolen without you knowing.
