Body of Beaver Dam Man Recovered In Kingston

The Green Lake County Sheriff’s Department has released the name of the missing Beaver Dam man who had gone fishing in the Kingston area on Saturday. Jacob D. Friede had not been heard from since he left on Saturday to go fishing. 

Beaver Dam Police made contact with the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Department Sunday just past noon, asking for assistance in locating Friede. At 12:37 p.m. Sunday afternoon, they located a vehicle belonging to the 42-year old Friede at Spring Lake Park in the town of Kingston. Deputies requested assistance from fire departments, water rescue, and ems as they suspected the subject may be in the lake.  

Rescue units were able to locate the victim in the water, near his small overturned skiff. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the Green Lake County Coroner’s Office.  The incident remains under investigation by the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office and the Green Lake County Coroner’s Office.

The Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Kingston, Dalton, Marquette, Markesan, and Princeton Fire Departments, and  Markesan Southern Green Lake County EMS.
