Brandon Meats Participates In Governors Blue Ribbon Meat Products Auction

The Governor’s Blue Ribbon Meat Products Auction at the Wisconsin State Fair, celebrated its 24th year on August 11, 2015.  Governor Walker hosted the event encouraging bidders to increase their bids, and contribute to a sale that raised more than $115,000 that benefits the Wisconsin  4-H Foundation.

Stars of the evening included the Grand Champion and the Reserve Grand Champion from all categories in the Wisconsin State Fair Meat Products Contest. More than 140 entries competed for these top honors.  The annual contest, held in association with the Wisconsin Association of Meat Processors, recognizes quality meat processing while promoting superior Wisconsin food products.

Brandon Meats and Sausage Inc reserve grand champion flavored bacon raised $3,200, which benefits the more than 350,000 Wisconsin 4-H youth. It was purchased by Beechwood Sales.

Participation of both the meat processor and buyer’s at this year’s auction helps support Wisconsin’s 4-H youth and youth programs. Based in Madison, Wisconsin, the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation provides essential funding for 4-H programs throughout Wisconsin. By partnering with individuals, corporations and foundations, the Foundation supports more than 350,000 youth who take part in various 4-H leadership, developments, and community-building activities throughout the state.
