Brat Fry Allows FD Fire Dept To Reverse Roles

Once a year the roles of the Fond du Lac Fire Department and American Red Cross are reversed. That’s because it’s usually the Red Cross that travels out to fire and disaster scenes to help victims and provide food and water to firefighters. But not today when firefighters will be grilling up brats and burgers to raise funds for the Red Cross at the South Main Street Fire Station. Fire Chief Peter O’Leary says the Red Cross was there for them during the recent house explosion. They were also available at the scene of a house fire a week later. O’Leary says the annual brat fry is something the look forward to doing for the Red Cross. Again hours for the brat fry are 10 to 2. Orders of 20 or more will be delivered if they are phoned in before 9 a.m. today by calling 322-3800. There will also be a drive through set up.
