Breister to Resign from FDL School Board June 1st

Fond du Lac School Board member Peggy Breister will be
stepping down from her position on the board June 1st.

Breister was elected to her first three-year term on the
board in 2016, and was re-elected to a second term in 2019. According to a news
release, Breister has accepted a leadership role at UW-Oshkosh with increased “duties
and responsibilities”, which she says “means I will not have the time that I
feel is necessary to devote to the issues of the Fond du Lac School District.”

“I am humbled to have been a part of the Board during a
time when a nearly $100 million referendum in support of education was passed
by our district voters,” said Breister. “I hope the district will use this
money to implement innovative teaching strategies that most benefit students. I
hope in some small way my limited time on the board was able to make a difference
and advance K-12 education in Fond du Lac.”

The School Board will discuss the process of filling the vacancy
left by Breister’s departure at their June 8th meeting.
