Milwaukee 4, Pittsburgh 3

–A two home run day for Eric Thames powered the Brewers to a series sweep of the Pirates and continued their flaming-hot month of September. Thames blasted a solo shot in the fourth inning, and hit a two-run blast in the sixth to close out the Brewers scoring on the day. Milwaukee sports a 17-4 record in the month – and thanks to a loss by Washington Sunday afternoon, now sits in a tie for the top Wild Card spot in the National League. The Brewers are off today and open the final week of the regular season in Cincinnati Tuesday night.
