Brown Bag Lunches

If last year’s program is any indication the Fond du Lac Salvation Army’s Brown Bag Lunch program will provide about 13,000 lunches to the needy this summer. Salvation Army Captain Telinda Wilson says the program starts up the week after schools get out for the summer and lasts until late August. But she says it isn’t just about providing kids with a meal who might go without after school lets out. She says they also feed adults serving lunches Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer. She says they are always happy to get donations for the program. She says peanut butter and jelly are staples, but each year their biggest need is juice boxes. She says in addition to their location on North Macy in Fond du Lac they also provide the lunches at several apartment buildings and church locations around the City.
