Bucket Brigade Brings in Nearly $34,000 for Red Kettle Campaign

The annual Fond du
Lac
Fire and Rescue Bucket Brigade hauled in a huge
amount of donations for the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign this year.

Firefighters stood on the street in front of the fire station on South Main Street
and our building here on Winnebago
Drive
– and collected $18,864.50 from the Fond du Lac community
from 7:00am-12:30pm on Friday.

Michels Corporation will also match $15,000 of
those donations – bringing the total amount up to $33,864.50.

Major Jon
Welch also tells us they expect more donations to arrive in the mail,
designated for the Bucket Brigade.

A few individuals handed over sizeable
checks, including one for $6,000 – one for $5,000 – and another for $2,500.

Welch tells us he’s impressed with the turnout, seeing “people stepping up in such a short time frame to help” the Salvation Army serve the community.

The Salvation Army of Fond du Lac County is aiming to raise $165,000 in the Red Kettle Campaign this year.
