Buckling Pavement Possible

The state’s Department of Transportation reminds motorists that unusually hot weather could create ideal conditions for pavement buckling. Drivers are asked to take extra caution. Pavement buckles are most common when the weather quickly goes from cool to very hot, causing pavement to expand. Some reminders include slowing down, buckling up and eliminating distractions. Watch for slowing traffic. If necessary, report serious pavement issues by calling 911.
