Bucks Fall to Suns in Game One Despite Giannis’ Return to Lineup

NBA Finals – Game 1:

Phoenix 118, Milwaukee 105

–Giannis Antetokounmpo returned to the Bucks’ lineup with a 20-point and 17-rebound performance, but it wasn’t enough to help the Bucks rally to beat the Suns in Game One of the NBA Finals in Phoenix Tuesday night.

Giannis’ status was upgraded from “doubtful” to “questionable” earlier in the day – after he had missed the last two games of the Eastern Conference Finals with a hyperextended knee.

The Bucks trailed 92-76 at the end of the third quarter, and got the lead down to seven with just over seven minutes to play in the game – but couldn’t get any closer.

Khris Middleton led Milwaukee in scoring with 29 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Brook Lopez scored 17 points, while Jrue Holiday added 10 points, nine assists and seven rebounds in the loss.

Chris Paul paced the Suns with 32 points on 12-of-19 shooting from the floor, with Devin Booker adding 27 points, and DeAndre Ayton pitching in a double-double of 22 points and 19 rebounds in the home court victory.

The Bucks look to bounce back with a win in Game Two of the series Thursday night in Phoenix. Tipoff is set for just after 8 PM.
