Burglary In Byron Ends In High Speed Pursuit, Arrest

What started as a suspicious activity complaint ended up with a high speed pursuit Monday morning.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department responded to the complaint Monday December 20, 2021 at approximately 9:43am, with a call stating the suspicious activity taking place in the area of CTH F and STH 175 in the Town of Byron.

Deputies responded to the area and were informed that a residence had been burglarized. Deputies of the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office were provided with a vehicle description of the possible suspects.

At 9:52am, a deputy with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office located a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle in the area of CTH V and USH 151 in the Town of Empire and attempted to stop the vehicle.

The vehicle accelerated, heading north on USH 151, while an attempt to stop the vehicle was initiated.

The deputy pursued the vehicle northbound on USH 151 for 10 miles. Due to the vehicle driving into oncoming traffic and the reckless driving, the pursuit was terminated on USH 151 at CTH Q.

The information of the suspect vehicle was distributed to Calumet County Sheriff’s Office, where a deputy with Calumet County Sheriff’s Office located an occupant from the vehicle at a gas station in Calumet County. It was confirmed that the suspect vehicle from the burglary was the same vehicle involved in the pursuit.

This subject was detained and arrested on an outstanding warrant through Fond du Lac County. The incident is still under investigation with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.
