Campbellsport Robbery Suspects Charged

Two of the three suspects in an armed robbery and shooting at a Campbellsport area residence last Sunday made their initial appearances in Fond du Lac County Court yesterday. Derrick Johnson and Dominic Cloyd were both charged for the incident at a residence on Double D Road in the Town of Auburn. Bond was set for Johnson at $30,000 and $15,000 for Cloyd. They have preliminary hearings next Thursday. According to the criminal complaint they and a third man were there to rob a couple Quinn and Sheri Laidler. During the incident Johnson allegedly struck Sheri Laidler in the head when she pleaded with them not to hurt her. Both she and Quinn Laidler were threatened with a handgun. Johnson later told investigators he was going through a backpack when the gun accidentally went off wounding a third suspect Danny Morris. Johnson and Cloyd dragged Morris out of the home and later took him to the Aurora Clinic in Hartford to be treated for the gunshot wound. Police there were notified about a person with a gunshot wound, which eventually led to the arrest of the three suspects. During the robbery $5,840 was taken from a safe and $2,175 from a nightstand.
