Campbellsport Woman Flown to Hospital after Fall from Trailer

A 32-year-old woman from Campbellsport had to be flown to Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee after authorities say she fell from a trailer and hit her head Saturday evening.

Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Campbellsport Ambulance were called to Trail Vu Court in the Town of Auburn just before 7 pm Saturday for the incident.

Initial reports said a woman fell off a trailer that was being pulled by a UTV and hit her head on the road, and witnesses say the woman was unresponsive and had significant bleeding from a head injury. The woman was taken by ambulance to St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, and then flown by Flight for Life to Froedert, where she was last said to be in stable condition.

An investigation by the sheriff’s office and the Wisconsin DNR found that the woman was a passenger in a utility trailer being pulled by the UTV around the area of Trail Vu Court and Moraine Drive for Halloween activities. A press release says the woman was trying to get back into the trailer when the UTV began to move, resulting in her falling off and hitting her head on the road. The 38-year-old man driving the UTV was not injured.

Authorities say alcohol was not a factor in the incident, and the UTV was being operated legally.
