Campgrounds in FDL County to Reopen with Restrictions in Place

Campgrounds in Fond du Lac County will reopen next Friday,
but will have some restrictions in place as changes are made to Wisconsin’s “Safer
at Home” order.

Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller announced
Friday that the previous order closing campgrounds in the county will be
rescinded as of 8 AM on Friday, April 24th. The extended “Safer at
Home” order issued by the state allows campgrounds to reopen, provided that
certain restrictions are followed.

Fond du Lac County Public Health Order #4 asks campground
facilities that resume operation to do the following:

–Maintain social distancing of six feet at all times

–Prohibit the use of buildings or public spaces that would
encourage social gatherings of any number of people

–Limit all campsites to members of a single household or
living unit. All other private gatherings of any number of people are
prohibited

–Increase the cleaning frequency of shared toilets,
laundry facilities and showers.

The new county health order will remain in effect as long
as the “Safer at Home” order is in effect. “Safer at Home” is set to run through 8 AM on May 26th.
