Capanu Waives Preliminary Hearing in Skimming Case

A man facing charges in connection to a credit card skimming case in the Fond du Lac area appeared in court on Friday. 36-year old Catalin Adrian-Capanu of Anaheim, California waived his right to a preliminary hearing. He faces twenty felony counts of Credit Card Forgery, along with a misdemeanor count for resisting an officer. Capanu and another man were arrested back in June, after officers responded to reports of suspicious activity at a Marine Credit Union ATM. Officers found 137 cloned credit cards and $7,500 in cash in their vehicle. He is set to enter a plea next month.
