Capital Campaign For New SMSA Schools Well Underway

St. Mary’s Springs Academy in Fond du Lac has launched a “Second Century Campaign” to raise $21.3 million to bring all its students to the campus where the high school is currently located on County Highway K. Academy President Kevin Shaw says renovations and improvements are needed, but would be costly for all three current facilities. He says the facilities range from 43 to 85 years old. He says the new elementary and middle school and high school would have state of the art technologies new art, music and science spaces, a shared cafeteria, new gymnasium and fitness facilities, updated sports fields, expanded parking and student pickup/drop off area, and will be handicap accessible. Shaw says they’ve already raised $15.4 million for the effort, but the groundbreaking and beginning of construction hinge on what people continue to give. He says he’d like to see the new facilities open by the fall of 2015 or 2016. Those interested in giving to the campaign can send contributions to St. Mary’s Springs Academy, 114 Amory Street, Fond du Lac, WI 54935 or you can stop by there for more information or call (920) 924-0993.
