Chamber Pushes to Delay Vote on Kimberly-Clark Incentives

The Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce is asking to delay a vote on a tax incentive plan to keep Kimberly Clark’s Cold Spring facility open. The $100-million dollar tax incentive bill would also prevent the loss of hundreds of jobs. Kimberly-Clark has given state senators a firm deadline of September 30th to make the vote.

The chamber is asking to delay the vote until November 30th – so newly elected officials can work together in a bipartisan manner to pass the bill. The chamber argues that “sixty extra days to preserve a 146-year manufacturing relationship is a reasonable request.” The Assembly passed the bill in February but has stalled in the Senate.
