Changes In Store For 2021 Sturgeon Season

The 2021 Sturgeon Season is just over a month away, but there’s sure to be major discussion between now and then after the DNR released their changes to the upcoming season. In a press release issued Wednesday, the DNR announced that there will be fewer registration stations, and those registration stations will be primarily relocated to boat landings, city parks and government buildings. The biggest driver behind the moves is to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. As such, stations will be operated as a drive-thru only, with license holders required to remain in their vehicle throughout the registration process. Also, spear head widths are restricted to 18 inches or less this year, and the tines must be arranged in a single, straight line.
