Charges Filed In Puppy Abuse Case

Charges have been filed against a 30-year-old Fond du Lac woman in a puppy abuse case involving the dousing of two puppies with bleach. Seven charges were filed against Amanda Farr Thursday, one felony and six misdemeanors. She is accused of knowing about, but doing nothing while her 8-year-old son dumped bleach on a puppy that was “biting” at his feet, placed the 6-8 week old puppy in a trash bag and took it outside and put it in a dumpster. Another puppy was splashed with bleach. Three puppies were rescued from the apartment on Martin Avenue and the two injured puppies were treated for caustic burns. Farr has been charged with five counts of being party to the crime with two counts each of giving poison to an animal and mistreatments of animals and one count of intentional abandonment. She also faces charges of intentionally providing improper outdoor shelter and disorderly conduct. She will have an initial hearing in Fond du Lac County Court next Tuesday.
