Charges Likely after Infant Death Ruled Homicide

Fond du Lac Police are ruling the death of an infant in Fond du Lac earlier this year as a homicide. The investigation is continuing as police forward the case to the District Attorney’s Office with recommended homicide charges. The two-month old reportedly died from injuries consistent with non-accidental head trauma and maltreatment. The Wisconsin Department of Children and Families says an assessment of the child’s death points to physical abuse by the mother and neglect by the father. The baby died back in June after police reported to a home and attempted CPR on the choking child. The baby was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
