Chilton Man Seriously Injured In ATV Accident

One man was seriously injured following an ATV accident in Calumet Tuesday morning.

Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies were notified Tuesday October 19, 2021 at approximately 9:34 AM, of an ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) that overturned and the operator injured in a field near N10233 St. Paul Rd, in the town of Calumet, located in Fond du Lac County.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office along with Calumet First Responders, Calumet Fire Department, Mt. Calvary Ambulance and Theda Star Medical Helicopter responded to the scene.

It was determined that a 51-year old male from Chilton was working in the farm field as he was checking a line that was used in the field to pump fertilizer. The operator of the ATV was traveling west in the field along this line, and looked over his shoulder when he then travelled across the line that was pumping fertilizer, and lost control of the ATV. The ATV rolled over, ejecting the operator from the ATV.

The operator was transported by Theda Star Medical Helicopter to Theda Care Regional Medical Center- Neenah with serious injuries. The operator was not wearing a helmet as they were conducting agriculture work in the field.
