Christmas Morning Apartment Fire in NFDL

Nobody was injured in an early morning apartment fire in
the Village of North Fond du Lac Tuesday morning. The North Fond du Lac Fire
Department along with City of Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue and the Van Dyne Fire
Department – along with North Fond du Lac Police, The Fond du Lac County
Sheriff’s Office, RIT District 1 and Alliant Energy were called to the apartment
at 396 Harrison Street just before 4:30 am. The fire was reported under control
around 6:20 in the morning. The three people living in the apartment – along with
all other residents were able to get out safely. The apartment building has
been declared a total loss. Firefighters are reminding residents about the
importance of having working smoke detectors in your home – and also say to sleep
with your door closed at night. The cause of the fire is under investigation by
the North Fond du Lac Fire Department and Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.
