City Council To Hear ARPA Funds Update

The Fond du Lac City Council meets tonight (12/8/2021), and they’ll hear an update on the American Rescue Plan Act and what might be done with the funds the city is receiving.

Fond du Lac is set to receive just under $13.8 million, with half of the funding already received, and the other half scheduled to be released in May of 2022.

Where the money will be spend needs to be determined by the end of 2024, and then the funds need to be disbursed by end of year 2026.

The foals has been to use the funds on nonrecurring projects rather than ongoing operational additions.

A recent survey was filled out by over 1,400 residents, with the city asking respondents to rank 13 potential projects, from most important to least important.

Leading the way was replacing lead pipes in the city, following by Utility Street Reconstruction and private inflow and infiltration reduction.
