City Of FDL Considering Participation In Strategic Plan

The City of Fond du Lac will be participating in a public-private partnership for strategic planning. City Manager Joe Moore introduced the proposal to the City Council last night. Councilman Greg Giles says it’s a good idea for the City to be involved in planning for the future. Councilman Brian Foster was worried that once the plan is complete there is follow-through on it. Moore said there would be a steering committee that makes sure the plan is used. He says it’s a 20-plus year plan with some long-term efforts and more immediate goals. The Council will be asked during the City Budget process whether they would be willing to commit $10,000 to help pay for the cost of developing the plan. Agnesian HealthCare, Mercury Marine, the Fond du Lac County Economic Development Corporation, Fond du Lac Convention and Visitors Bureau and Fond du Lac Area Association of Commerce will also be contributing to the $78,435 cost of the plan.
