City Of FDL Director Of Admin Set To Retire

Fond du Lac City Manager Joe Moore announced Wednesday that the City’s Director of Administration, Tracy Salter, will be retiring as of May 2, 2022.

Salter has been with the city for nearly 34 years.

In a press release issued Wednesday afternoon, Moore said, “Mrs. Salter has served the city with excellence since joining the Comptroller’s Office in 1988. As such, she was promoted to ever increasing positions of responsibility and authority throughout her long career of public service because of her unyielding commitment and devotion to the City’s long term financial success.

“In 2016, Mrs. Salter ascended to her current executive role. As proof of her success, every year under her leadership as the City’s Chief Financial Officer, the Government Finance Officers Association awarded its Certificate for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City.

“As one responsible for an annual budget in excess of $100 million, Mrs. Salter insightfully and diligently applied internal financial controls to protect the City’s finances, automated and modernized a wide variety of financial management systems, made substantial cost saving
adjustments to the City’s debt portfolio and accounted for financial transactions so exceptionally that every third party audit reported nearly flawless levels of compliance and accuracy within the City’s financial management processes.”

City Manager Moore also closed by saying “Mrs. Salter leaves an outstanding legacy of service, trustworthiness and commitment to the
people of Fond du Lac.”

No successor has been named as of yet.
