Clean Sweep, Collection Of Hazardous Waste Planned For Fond du Lac County

The Land and Water Conservation Department of Fond du Lac County has announced it will hold a collection of hazardous chemical waste on Saturday, May 6.

They say the collection is for household and agricultural chemical waste and is open to all Fond du Lac County residents, farms, school districts, and small businesses.

The collection will occur at the County Highway Department at 1820 South Hickory Street in Fond du Lac from 9 a.m. until noon.

The fee for residents and farmers is $5 per vehicle, payable by cash only. The fee for small businesses differs and can be obtained by contacting Veolia’s program director
at zach.davis@veolia.com for a no-obligation cost estimate.

Farms must pre-register prior to April 28, by calling the Fond du Lac County Land and Water Conservation office at (920) 906-4680 or e-mailing the program assistant at kim.ruelle@fdlco.wi.gov.

Small businesses and school districts must pre-register and submit an itemized inventory prior to April 28 by contacting Veolia program manager at zach.davis@veolia.com.

Households do not need to pre register.

The site also explains how to dispose of other items that will not be accepted.

Clean Sweep is funded by a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection and Fond du Lac County.

Residents who need ADA accommodations are encouraged to contact the Land and Water Conservation office before the event.
