Close Call for FDL Sheriff’s Deputy a Reminder to Drive Slow in the Snow

A close call caught on dashcam for a Fond du Lac County
Sheriff’s Deputy is being used to remind drivers about driving slow in the snow.
In a post on the department’s Facebook page, the video shows Deputy Jason Fabry
walking back onto the highway after assisting a driver who slid into the ditch
during a recent snowstorm. As he gets onto the road, an oncoming driver slides
out of control and nearly hits him. Luckily, nobody was hurt, but the sheriff’s
office notes the incident could have been deadly for the deputy or for an
oncoming vehicle. The post says the video serves as an example of people driving
too fast for conditions, putting the life of a deputy at risk. “Please SLOW
DOWN, give yourself EXTRA TIME to make it to your destination and DRIVE SAFE,
especially around emergency vehicles. Our lives depend on it!” the post reads.
