Complaint Filed Against Green Bay City Clerk

A complaint has been filed with the Wisconsin Election Commission, against Green Bay City Clerk Celestine Jeffreys.

A Brown County man claims he saw Jeffreys accept multiple absentee ballots from the same person during the April 5th election.

Eric Kaardal, an attorney with the conservative Thomas More Society which filed the complaint, says state law doesn’t allow that.

“And there’s nothing in the text that would suggest that she can accept multiple ballots from an individual voter in the clerk’s office. But she’s claiming, ‘oh yes I have that power.’”

There’s been plenty debate over legal issues surrounding absentee ballot returns. Opponents claim it allows for ballot harvesting and fraud. Supporters say it prevents voters from being disenfranchised.
